Glad Dogs Nation. Inc. and Glad Dogs Foundation, Inc. were created to, first and foremost, tackle the overwhelming challenge of pet overpopulation by increasing awareness of the need to spay and neuter.

Many of us have been touched by television and magazine ads showing sad-looking animals in deplorable conditions. Some of us have seen the problem first hand. But few of us have stood in a shelter on "kill day" watching healthy animal after healthy animal die simply for lack of space and resources.

Approximately 3 million domesticated animals die in shelters every year -- that's an average of 8,219 adoptable animals euthanized every day or an average of 60,000 potential loving pets killed per state annually.

How can we make a difference? We believe spaying and neutering pets before they can breed is the step to solving this horrific nationwide problem.

Just one unaltered female dog and her offspring can produce 67,000 puppies in only six years.

In seven years, one female cat and her offspring can produce a mind boggling 370,000 kittens!

Our SPEUTER AMERICA initiative has supported spay/neuter programs nationwide.  We work with shelters and rescues to increase the effectiveness of their spay/neuter efforts by generating excitement and providing incentives to participate.
